Is a Zestimate a Real Estimate? Not So Much…

Have you ever tried to look up your home’s estimated value online?  If you have, I’m sure you’ve come across something like this:

Though this is a quick and easy way to get a ballpark idea of what your home is worth, it’s far from accurate.  Essentially, the Zestimate, and other similar online valuations, uses software that reaches out for publically available data, then it uses that data to offer an estimated value.  Information like the number of bedrooms, baths, and square footage does factor into your home’s worth; but what about all of those upgrades you’ve done over the years?  What about constantly changing market conditions and home valuations in your immediate area?  These things and more factor into the true value of your home – and that’s why you need to use a real estate pro in your area to truly understand how to price your home when you’re ready to sell.

If you’re just curious about the general value of a home in your area, the Zestimate is just fine.  But, if the time has come to list your home, you need the human touch and expertise that you get with a true real estate professional – not some software that uses a basic algorithm to calculate an often times inaccurate estimated value.  To sell quickly you have to price your home right the first time!  With the spring buying season heating up there’s no better time to get in touch with us – The Dream Connectors!
