The Lake Ray Hubbard Area has many gorgeous parks. One of my favorites is Westlake Park in Mesquite. Westlake Park does not have a playground, but there is never a shortage of people. Westlake is a highly treed area that offers lots of shade. There is a large pond with a fountain for those who love to fish. There are also nature trails, pavilions, and tennis courts. There is also plenty of open space for a impomptu soccer game or kickball.
Besides the pure recreational use of Westlake Park, there is also a house that you could rent for activities such as a wedding, reception or party. It is not uncommon to see a variety of pictures being taken in the goregeous landscape either. I, personally, had my bridal portraits taken at the Westlake Park. Also, in December every year the city of Mesquite has Chirstmas in the Park. This even is complete with Mrs. Claus’ cookies, hot Dr. Pepper and of course the jolly ole man himself.
No matter what time of year you visit, you are guaranteed a fun time at Westlake Park!
