Jacqui Bloomquist Taylor’s home on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rowlett is often a gathering spot for family, friends and neighbors, but especially when a storm is on the way.
On Saturday night, as a tornado hurtled across the lake, Taylor, her husband Chad and 10 others — plus a couple of pets — rushed to the backyard and scrambled into the 6-by-8-foot concrete, in-ground storm shelter that the Taylors installed 2 ½ years ago.
As most of us are going to be counting down to the new year, I ask that you please keep the unfortunate families that were devastatingly affected by Saturday’s storm in your thoughts and prayers. I wish you all a very happy and safe New Year…see you in 2016!
