Beer may be the first thing that comes to mind to have with a backyard BBQ, but the right wines can be amazing with smoky barbecued meats. Pairing wine instead of beer with barbecue seems sort of like playing Chopin nocturnes at a Nascar race. But what are cliffs for but to fling oneself off one? San Martino will show you how to pair wines with BBQ so you can be ready for the 4th of July celebration.
Reservations are required. No minors.
July 11, 6:30PM
Cost : $50.00/person. Wine Club Member Discount : $10.00 each on a max. of 2 persons
San Martiño Winery & Vineyards will be hosting a special dinner in their barrel room for 14 guests. Guests will have the option of having it paired with wines selected by the winemaker. Their barrel room stays at a cool 55 to 58 F degrees so guests are asked to bring a light jacket and dress appropriately for the environment even though it is summer time. All ingredients are carefully selected, organic and whenever possible they are from local farmers within a few miles of the winery. The menu is as follows:
- Bouillabaisse, white wine, vegetable stock, parsley, garlic, tomatoes, spicy paprika, seafood
- Pork roast, pineapple-apricot spicy bbq sauce, roasted beet-cabbage salad, fresh roasted corn, San Martiño balsamic dressing
- Cheese, glorious cheese… fresh preserves, balsamic reduction
