Serving the cities of Mesquite, Garland, and Balch Springs, Mesquite Independent School District provides education for about 40,000 students in a total of 46 campuses. Within the last decade, Mesquite ISD has been rated “Recognized” by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) several times over. Mesquite ISD is one of only eleven districts for three consecutive years to receive a 5-star rating on the Financial Allocation Study for Texas (FAST), which identifies school districts and campuses that produce high academic achievement while maintaining cost-effective operations, based on each district’s academic, financial, and demographic data. MISD also owns Memorial Stadium, one of the largest high school football stadiums in Texas with a capacity of 20,000.
