Happy Texas Independence Day!

Welcome to TexasThe colonists in Texas began forming Committees of Correspondence and Safety in 1835 when the Mexican government transitioned from a federalist model to centralism. The Texas Revolution officially began on October 2, 1835, in the Battle of Gonzales. Originally the Texians fought for the reinstatement of the Constitution of 1824, by 1836 the aim of war had changed. The Convention of 1836 declared independence on March 2, 1836 and officially formed the Republic of Texas.

Texans are proud and very self-sufficient. We are a diversified people and we have many diversified occupations and careers. We have some of the best colleges and universities. I am truly not sure if there is more pride in a state like there is in Texas. I, like most, am Texas Born, Texas Bread and when I die-I will be Texas Dead. Happy Independence Day, Texas!
