Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

On March 2, 1904 he was born, but to the world he is known as Dr. Seuss. You will recall some of the books he wrote and illustrated such as “The Cat in the Hat” and “Green Eggs and Ham”. Geisel wrote “The Cat in the Hat” in 1957 and was his first best seller.

Some of Dr. Seuss books have been adapted to television and films. Among two of those are “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” and “Horton Hears a Who!”

Dr. Seuss lived and worked in an old observatory in La Jolla, California and it became known as “The Tower”. Dr. Seuss died September 24, 1991 at the age of 87.

Today my children got a special jean day (normally wear uniforms) in honor of Dr. Seuss’s Birthday!
