The city of Coppell, Texas is publicly served by a nationally-recognized school district, known for its high test scores, an almost perfect graduation rate, and an abundance of special programs designed to prepare students for college and careers. Coppell Independent School District educates more than 11,500 students in the cities of Coppell, Valley Ranch, Irving, Grapevine, Lewisville, and Dallas. One of only 86 in the nation, NTH@Coppell is a technology-geared school that is part of the New Tech Network which “prepares learners to excel in an information-based and technologically-advanced society.” In the few short years since its arrival, the school has been acknowledged by TEA as “Exemplary”. Then in 2014, the district opened the first Net-Zero elementary school in the state of Texas. Richard J. Lee Elementary uses solar panels, wind energy generators, rainwater collection systems, geothermal units, and daylight harvesting in order to cut down completely on energy usage.

Students in grades 5-8 attend either Coppell Middle East, Coppell Middle North, or Coppell Middle West. After that, the students move on to one of two high schools in the district: Coppell High School and New Tech High @ Coppell. The district also has two Alternative Education programs (Turning Point and the Compass DAEP) that are both located in Victory Place @ Coppell.
