If you’ve been exploring the Lake Ray Hubbard area of the Dallas-Forth Worth region as a spot to build or buy a home or start a business, you’ll want to move quickly. Late last week, Dallas developer Ken Donahue announced plans to create a one billion dollar resort-anchored project on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rowlett.

The proposed development, “Bayside,” will include a proposed 5.5 acre swimming lagoon (The first in Texas!), as well as:

  • 350 single-family homes
  • About 3,000 apartment homes
  • 1.75 million square feet of commercial real estate, including about 500,000 square feet of office space
  • A possible 500-room resort on the south end of the property at its peninsula
  • A possible 10-story condo tower
  • A possible limited service hotel
  • 1,000 boat slips over the next seven years
  • A weekend event lawn and water show fountain
